Clwydian Range – Area of Outstanding Beauty
Over 35k (20 miles) of undulating hills form the Clwydian Range from the Prestatyn Hillside in the north to the Nant y Garth pass in the South. The highest point is the magnificent Moel Famau which rises to a height of 554 metres. The two country parks at Moel Famau and Loggerheads are extremely popular with visitors of all ages. The opportunity to see magnificent countryside, with breathtaking views in all directions, makes this AONB (area of outstanding beauty) a place you will want to visit time and again. If you can make the top of Moel Famau then you will be rewarded with a 360 degree view. The Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs almost the full length of the ridge crest. For those who prefer a less strenuous visit, Loggerheads County Park offers a variety of walks, a visitors' centre and an award-winning café.
